Exploring Creation with
Botany is part of Apologia's elementary science courses written by
Jeannie Fulbright. At Jeannie Fulbright's website you can find notebooking
downloads for several of her science courses and you can read about why
she likes notebooking. Jeannie Fulbright Supply lists and notebook files can be downloaded from the Apologia website. Look for Elementary Science on the left navigation bar. The notebook file links are under the book image. The supply lists can be found by clicking on the book image and scrolling all the way to the bottom of the page. The materials list link is in the last paragraph. |

Botany 20-Week class schedule by Tina Thruston

Comments from
Tina Thruston: We finished Botany in a semester and then went on to Zoology for a semester. We emailed the kids regularly with updates or reminders. Our class time for Botany was two hours every other week. With Zoology we found we needed to meet more often (the book is larger) and so adjusted our schedule. We bought all the supplies needed for the class and kept them in a bin ready to go. The families split the cost. One thing not noted in the schedule is the videos we used. I would go to the library or Netflicks and get a video that pertained to our subject matter. We watched one on photosynthesis, for instance, when we studied that in the book. We also checked out Dr. Wile's site during class or on our own, that went along with the chapter. The kids kept a notebook and designed their own cover. Dr. Wile's site offers notebook pages that compliment the program. They are very helpful. Note: When we studied zoology, we did not revisit bees since we covered that with Botany. |

"This schedule allows for some labs that are not in the book, and outside work on breaks and after co-op ends to complete the book in one year. This, of course, can be modified by those using it to suit their own schedule." - Leah Exploring Creation with General Science Co-op Schedule by: Sheri Neely
