Grades and Attendance Web Site Reworked

BabyIt is about time! :smarty:

Since reworking the web site, I knew the G&A web site sorely needed to be improved, but I put it off for just a few more weeks. I just did not want to tackle it. Emails from visitors prompted me to go ahead and get it done. I knew it was a mess. Every time someone asked me a question about the Grades and Attendance files, I went to my web site to investigate an answer, and even I had trouble finding pages or files in the G&A web site.

g&aI worked on it two or three days. I added a 4th row to the menu. I added link-circles and bunny trails to pages. I added zip versions of the files for those who need a fast download. I added more images. I added the unweighted points version, a file which I somehow neglected to add in the past. G&A web site is improved, but I know it could be better. It will have to do for now. I’ve got a basket full of other homeschool web related stuff to do at DY. :smarty:

Grade Timing

I did address a long overdue issue. Last year I added quarterly and 6-week grade averages to the subject worksheets. I don’t think I ever documented how to make the best use of that feature. So if you want to see, please visit Grade Timing. The page has a full sized image that I hope is not too confusing. The image encloses the cells in colors related to the quarterly or 6-week periods and there are two tables telling which rows add to which average periods. (When the grade timing link is broken go to: http://donnayoung.org/forms/planners/exgrade_attend.htm and find the grade timing page from the G & A Help files.)

Weighing Grades

I added a web page that is about weighing grades. It discusses weighing parts of a test and parts of a subject. I hope it is clear enough. Sometimes these things are hard to explain.

  3. big smile Wow! I am enjoying looking at all the new things you`ve done. You are such a blessing to all of us! Thanks!
I am going to try using Grades and Attendance our next school year. I do have one question though, is there anyway to print out a "report card" every nine weeks?

    Blessings!
    Valerie

Yes, the current report card could be altered to do that.
