Mint Tea in an old Flintstones promo cupLet us say that like me, you use loose tea and you do not always want to pour it through a strainer before drinking the tea. You make not just one cup of tea, but instead, a whole pot of tea with your loose tea. That is what I do. I make a pot of tea that contains different tealeaves and some mint. Sometimes the tealeaves are already in a bag, but the mint never is, unless I bag it. This explains how to do that without much forethought.

Measure the loose tea in a coffee filter.

Tea in coffee filter

Gather the ruffles of the coffee filter in your hand while pressing down and at the same time, retaining the circular base of the coffee filter.

close coffee filter

Close the coffee filter with two staples or with thread. Drop the tea bag in the water.

  4. Hi Donna,

yep I have done this alot, I used to buy organic wild harvested red raspberry leaf tea and you had to make your own bag. Coffee filters work great.

  8. big grin Hiya Miss Donna! I hope that you had a very merry Christmas, you and yours. smile

You know, I have a lot of these brown unbleached coffee filters from when I was going to use them in my cold process soap making (when I infused calendula into olive for a scrumptious soap). I ended up using something else but I have so many boxes of these coffee filters now. I want to try what you`ve done! Now I`ll just have to figure out where to buy the tea.

Have a most excellent day! love, Robin

  10. I have been using coffee filters by folding them in half and then folding in the corners alternating then folding over the top and stapling once so it resembles a regular tea bag.
