At the grocery store I saw this

Easter

Later I checked the calendar for the dates of Passover (Apr 9), Good Friday (Apr 10), and Easter (Apr 12). That is 3 weeks away and today is the first day of spring an Equinox. The sun will rise due east and set due west.

  1. I did not know today was the Equinox. I am so focused on some earlier deadlines that knew Easter was coming up but I did not realize it was only 3 weeks away. Thanks for the heads up:)

  2. There`s Jesus - sandwiched between the Reese`s Peanut Butter Eggs and the sidewalk chalk. I am guessing it is sidewalk chalk.

I like your shadow chart. That is a good idea for this time of year, as it kind of goes along with our renewed interest & desire to be doing things outside.

  3. I would never have thought to see a Jesus or May action figure in the grocery store, maybe the Christian book store but not a secular store!! :ooo:

My pastor`s wife is due to deliver her third baby on Good Friday! I`ve told her that is quite the Easter Gift!

  5. My Goobers have a Jesus action figure. They use it to stop the fighting when the G.I. Joes get out of control. The first time I saw them do that I spit my drink across the room.

  7. I was thinking the same thing as Sherri. There is Jesus sandwiched between junk and junk food. LOL

I knew it was Equinox yesterday. I wanted the girlies and I to dye our underwear, but I never went out to buy the stuff. Yes, dye our underwear spring colors. Why? Why not?

    Melanie, too funny!!

  11. My son sports custom tie-dyed undies. Makes him feel cool and makes mom happy at laundry time.

Tie-dying is a great homeschool project. Depending on the age, dying can include the math of measuring and proportions and the science of the chemical reactions. Or they can just have fun.

There are many ready to dye clothing items that can be purchased from Dharma Trading Co. catalog. Of course you can dye just about anything cotton, silk or wool. Again, go to Dharma for free instructions on their website and in their catalog. My personal favorite dye is Procion MX dye which I have been using for many years and is used by many professional textiles artists and is available at Dharma too.
