This fritially is big and makes a very orange statement on the zinnias that it visits. Notice that it stands on 4 legs. When I look at photographs of this particular fritially, all that I have seen are standing on 4 legs.

The standing on 4 legs thing is normal, because with fritillaries and some other butterflies, their 2 front legs are tiny…the front legs don’t have the claw or prickly bottom leg part, these butterflies are also called Brushfoots or Brush-footed butterflies 🙂 Cool huh? 🙂
