Lurking in the furthest corner of my refrigerator was a jar of homemade raspberry sauce. If I were to guess the age of this particular sauce, I would say that is has been aging in the refrigerator a year or more. Last year, when my son visited us, I would make a jar of raspberry sauce to flavor our tea. We have not had any raspberry tea in around a year.
A long time ago, a friend at a forum asked me to post mold images. At the time, I did not have any food with mold and I suspected that was okay because I did not really think the request was pressing. The raspberry sauce had several lumps of mold and to fulfill an old request, the little image above and the two images below are microscopic images of pink and green mold.
The small image at the very top is a smear of mold from the raspberry sauce on a slide.
The image below is a flattened sample of mold.
The image below is not flattened and it was illuminated from both underneath and from the side. I use a small halogen lamp for side illumination.
This image reminds me of tweedy fabric.

Ooooo nice pics! Almost makes me want to put raspberry sauce in the back of my refrigerator for a year or so. 😆 Ok, the next time I find something moldy in my frig. I am going to take a picture of it. 😀
That last one does look like twead fabric.
Oh the fun you could have in my fridge!
That last picture looks like a furry tongue to me.

I came upon your fancy pic.s of mold while looking for a recipe… very neat to say the least! However the photo of the cute little squirrel caught my attention even more! My Father -in -Law is fighting for his life in a battle with leukemia and to make a long story short he and my husband have a long family history of story telling and silly songs envolving ( you guessed it) SQUIRRELS!!! They have actualyy passed their silliness on to my 4 yr old son is quite thrilled with the little criiters himself! Could you possibly send my a copy of this photo that I may send it on to my Father-in -Law! I know it would bring him a great bunch of laughs! After all ” a merry heart doeth good like a medicine”!Thanks for the input!
