Pork Chops in Mushroom Gravy

Recipe Submitted by Donna ..|.. Index | Meat / Main Dishes

Ingredients

  • 4 to 6 pork chops (chicken can be substituted)
  • 1 10.5 oz can Cream of Mushroom Soup
  • 1 cup of water
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of olive oil (any oil will work)

Directions

Put the oil in a large skillet and spread it around, (I use an electric skillet). Turn heat to medium-high or around 275 degrees F. Salt and pepper both sides of the pork chops. Place pork chops in the hot skillet. Brown both sides. Reduce the heat to medium. Mix the soup and the water and pour over the pork chops. Bring to a simmer. Cover the skillet, reduce heat and simmer for at least 30 minutes. Uncover the skillet, continue to simmer to reduce the gravy, about 5-10 more minutes.

serves 4-6
